The COC certificate (Certificate of Conformity), officially the EC Certificate of Conformity, is a document issued by the vehicle manufacturer. It confirms that your vehicle matches a type approved in the EU and contains all the technical data the registration office needs.

Mainly when you want to register a vehicle from another EU country, or if you have lost your original COC. Without a COC, the registration office often requires an expensive individual technical inspection.

The price depends on the manufacturer, as each one charges its own fees. With us, a COC costs between €139 and €299 including VAT, depending on the brand; for VW, for example, it's €149. You'll find the exact price on your brand's page, and shipping costs at checkout.

As soon as the manufacturer has issued the document, we send it to you as a PDF by email. For many brands, this takes around 2–3 working days. On request, we also send you the original paper document by post.

Usually, all you need is the 17-character vehicle identification number (VIN). Please enter it exactly as it appears on your vehicle registration document, as a single swapped character will delay processing.

Yes. Every COC certificate is issued directly by the vehicle manufacturer and is recognised in all EU countries, as well as in Switzerland and the UK, for example. A newly issued document is just as valid as the first copy.

In that case, we refund the full purchase price. There is no COC, for example, for vehicles built before around 1995 or for vehicles not built for the European market.
